Meet the Member - Olivia Paige West, CSA
From cruise lines to Broadway, Olivia Paige West has shaped her casting career with intention and passion. A product of New Jersey, West first tried casting during her freshman year in college. Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Moorestown, New Jersey.
When did you know you wanted a life in the arts?
After seeing a production of Ragtime and Anything Goes around 8 years old, I decided I need to be a part of theatre for the rest of my life.
What's currently on your watchlist (that has nothing to do with work)?
I am eagerly awaiting the next season of Only Murders in the Building and I am rewatching The Office.
If you weren't casting, what career might you pursue instead?
If I was not working in casting, I think I would be a lawyer or work in fashion.
What is one thing people don't know about you or would be surprised to find out?
You would be surprised to know I was attacked by a peacock when I was a child.
What's the first project you ever worked on in casting?
The first casting project I worked on was replacement casting for Celebrity Cruise Line.

What was one of the hardest roles you've had to cast, but also one of the most rewarding?
Dorothy in the Revival of The Wiz was one of the hardest but most rewarding roles to cast.
Which show's casting have you admired lately (excluding one of your own)?
The Whoopi Monologues and Oedipus.
What's a piece of advice you got early in your career that you still lean on?
Everyone has an opinion, it’s knowing when to share it that is important.
If you could tell your first-day-in-the-industry self one thing, what would it be?
Stay flexible, whether that is adapting to other working styles or being able to shift a full day of auditions at a moment’s notice.
What is the best thing that's happened to you this year?
Career wise, being featured in Broadway Women’s Alliance “You Should Know Her” series was really exciting! In my personal life, reuniting with two of my best friends in New Orleans was one of the best things to happen this year.
Why Casting?
I had the opportunity to try casting after my freshman year of college. I loved my experience and told myself I would work in casting when I was ready to retire from the stage. A few years later, I had an injury that left me unsure if I could ever feel comfortable performing again. It pushed me further into casting and towards an internship. I left that internship feeling ready to commit myself to casting as a career.
I realized I had just as much passion for being on the other side of the room as I did for performing. It’s a privilege to experience the work actors do in the room. Knowing that I am a part of the process of bringing a production to stage thrills teenage me, who always dreamed of working on Broadway.

Olivia has been with The TRC Company (formerly Tara Rubin Casting) since 2021. She is a three-time Artios Award nominee for her work in casting.
Broadway credits include: Wanted, Disney’s Aladdin, Boop! The Musical, The Wiz (Revival), Bob Fosse’s Dancin’, Six, and Dear Evan Hansen. National Tour Credits include: Boop! The Musical, Dirty Dancing, The Wiz (Pre-Broadway and 1st National), Disney’s Aladdin and Beauty and the Beast, Six, and Dear Evan Hansen. Off-Broadway Credits include: Giulia, A Walk on The Moon, Picnic at Hanging Rock and (un)conditional. Select Regional Credits: Chez Joey (Arena Stage) and Gun & Powder (now Wanted) and After Midnight (Paper Mill Playhouse).
She began her casting journey at Franck Casting and interned at Celebrity Cruises. Prior to joining TRC, Olivia was a Casting Assistant at Kate Lumpkin Casting.
Olivia aspires to create casts that are representative of the world we see today. She has a Bachelor of Arts from Rowan University in Theatre Arts with a concentration in Musical Theatre. She is extremely passionate about helping actors get to a place where they feel comfortable and happy with the work they’re doing in the room.
