Published on December 12, 2025

Actor: Nicole Lynn Evans | Interviewed by: Steven Tylor O'Connor, CSA

1) Has there been a Casting Director who has really championed or supported you in your career journey?

So many! Much love and gratitude to all these wonderful casting directors who have always supported me and my work: Steven Tylor O’Connor, CSA, Danielle Aufiero, CSA, Amber Horn, CSA, Russell Boast, CSA, Marci Liroff, CSA, Pam Dixon, CSA, Brett Greenstein, CSA, Scott Genkinger, CSA, and April Webster, CSA.

2) What is the project youre most proud of, and why?

The project I’m most proud of is “Shortcomings,” a show I co-created and am developing with an incredible team. I can’t wait to share it with the world. This story has lived in my heart for a long time.

3) What or who inspired you to pursue acting as a career?

My parents. They always encouraged my brother and me in the arts. They taught me to follow what I love and be happy. Life is short.

4) What was your first IMDbPro credit and how did you feel when you saw it?

I don’t remember my first IMDbPro credit, but every time a new one pops up, the younger version of me just starting out on this journey squeals inside. And honestly, so does the current version of me!

5) How has IMDbPro helped you either to market yourself or connect with other industry professionals?

IMDbPro is a great way to connect with other industry professionals. I also really appreciate the feature that lets you self-identify as an actor with a disability. That feature has helped me connect with so many other disability advocates and allies within the industry.

6) Any funny or memorable casting room stories you can share?

When I first started out as an actor, I had the good fortune to audition for a project that Marci Liroff, CSA, was casting. She told me I was a great actor, and her words had a profound effect on me. I don’t know if she remembers that or not, but it meant the world to me, and gave me the encouragement to keep on truckin’.

7) If you could play any character in any movie, past or present, who would it be and why?

The iconic characters who raised me: Lucy Ricardo, Uncle Buck, and Mary Poppins. I grew up watching Lucille Ball, John Candy, and Julie Andrews, and the joy they brought me made me want to do the same thing for others. Laugh until you cry or sing at the top of your lungs.

8) What show or movie that youre currently watching or have watched countless times could you nerd out about forever? What do you love about it?

I’ve watched Planes, Trains & Automobiles countless times. I could probably quote the entire movie from start to finish. I love the complete ride that movie takes me on. Laughing so hard, then moved to tears by the end. Legendary John Candy and Steve Martin.

9) Tell us a fun fact about you outside of acting.

I love music, and my taste is all over the place. If I weren’t an actor, I’d probably find a way to pursue a career in music in some way. I’m really into documentaries about rock stars, singers, musicians, and legendary bands. Their story and the process behind their body of work inspire me to create.

Actor of the Month is a monthly collaboration between IMDbPro and Casting Society that celebrates the casting community and spotlights its members through a series of interviews between casting directors and actors about their acting journey, the casting process, and how IMDbPro helps them advance their careers.
