Associate Mixer 2013
The CSA was excited to host a mixer for both member and non-member Associates in Los Angeles on Sunday, January 20th at the lovely Sassafras Saloon (check it out if you haven't been yet...it's an awesome space!). In addition to catching up and meeting new folks, we had an informative and inspiring panel discussion featuring the newly re-elected President of the CSA Board, Richard Hicks, outgoing Board Member, Monika Mikkelsen, and TV casting legend, John Frank Levey. It was also a chance for the community to meet the newest Associate Board Member, Gohar Gazazyan. We are looking forward to having another event for the Associates later this year!
2012 Artios Awards
The 2012 Artios Awards for Excellence in Casting were celebrated in Los Angeles. It was a star-studded evening, which included Ben Affleck, Jeremy Renner, Anna Kendrick, Cedric The Entertainer, Jean Smart, host Nicole Sullivan and others. Have a look !
CSA / ATAS Mixer
Each year, the CSA and the Casting Directors Peer Group of the Television Academy co-host a mixer for casting directors, associates, and assistants. It's usually a lot of fun, and 2012 was no exception.
Big Sunday 2012
This summer the CSA once again participated in Big Sunday, an annual opportunity to build community through community service. Patricia Heaton helped us throw a bingo party at Canter's in Los Angeles for the residents of a local women's shelter.
Los Angeles 2012 Tech Fair
In June, the CSA held its bi-annual Los Angeles tech fair, where members got a chance to learn about the latest advances in online casting technology. The keynote speaker, Lori Schwartz of 'World of Schwartz' was terrific!
