Interviewed by: Elaine del Valle, CSA

1)   Has there been a Casting Director that has encouraged and/or supported you in your career?

Yes, there has been, the most recent person I remember was ElaineDel Valle, after filming a movie with her she hugged me and told me many things that made me feel at home, and made me feel proud of what I had done.

2) What work are you most proud of?

That’s something very hard for me to answer, because I’m more than proud of all of my accomplishments. I’m very proud of Jessica Jones because that was my first job ever and it was for a well-known show, I’m also very proud of Santiago of the Seas because I was able to represent my Latino culture, and I’m also very proud of the film Brownsville Bred because I was able to represent my Latino culture AND be able to bring the history of Elaine del Valle’s life back to life. Those will be my top three choices.

3) What or who inspired you to pursue acting as a career?

I have wanted to be an actor since I was four. I would always look at the TV and tell my parents that I would be there someday, and now thanks to God, my parents, my manager Susan Rybin and her team, I was able to accomplish my dreams.

4) What was your first IMDBPro credit and how did you feel when you saw it?

My firstIMDb Pro credit was Jessica Jones. I felt super proud and super thankful. I saw that credit and I just started getting flashbacks of all the hard work, perseverance, dedication, patience and love that I put into my first accomplishment.

5) How has IMDBPro helped you market yourself to filmmakers?

IMDb Pro has helped me market myself because it has given easier access to filmmakers to look up my name and see what I have done and what my most recent and biggest projects are.

6) Any funny casting room stories?

Actually,I think it was my first audition... I didn’t have a script, but I had to dance.I’ve loved to dance my whole life but I never really knew the difference between the styles because I had taught myself. So I went into the room and the guy asked me if I was going to do hip-hop or breakdancing. I said hip-hop and he said OK. He put a beat on and told me to feel it and dance when I was ready. So I started feeling it, and then I started breakdancing. He started laughing, and I was super confused. I don’t think he told me to do it again, I think he just went with the flow. And that was my first audition.

7) Tell us a fun fact about you outside of acting:

I do boxing and taekwondo. I also love to play football for fun with my friends. I am very heavy on working out and making my body bigger and stronger.
