There are currently 49 Casting Director members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences.

Though the casting field has yet to be officially recognized with an award from the Academy, the growing number of Casting Directors who are AMPAS members, along with their increased involvement with Academy committees and activities, is helping to further establish the craft at the Academy on equal footing with all others.

With full voting privileges, Casting Director Academy members are pleased to vote annually in every Oscar category, and several of our members also volunteer each year to serve on the Academy's Foreign Film Nominating Committee. The Academy admissions process is a selective one, with only two or three new Casting Director members accepted annually, but each year our roster continues to grow.
