What is Artios?

The term Artios is from the ancient Greek word meaning perfectly fitted, and in 1985, the Casting Society established the Artios Awards® for excellence in casting. Seven members in four categories whose work was deemed outstanding by their peers were honored with the Artios Award that year at a ceremony held in the Crystal Room of the Beverly Hills Hotel. Today, members qualify and vote in twenty different theatrical categories and the awards continue to be given annually at ceremonies held in Los Angeles and New York.
